Justice Reform Toolkits

The Centre has developed practical tools to assist Prison Fellowship leaders promote justice and reconciliation in their countries. These include the Ten Keys brochures, each of which offers ten practical and do-able reforms that, if implemented, will make a difference in the lives of prisoners. Others take the form of Guidelines to promoting justice reform.

10 Keys Project
Criminal justice practitioners around the world seek practical measures to address the serious crises that exist in many justice systems. The purpose of the 10 Keys Project is to offer practical ideas to assist them in doing that.
Justice Reform Guides
Justice reform encompasses a variety of activities from seminars on specific topics to organizing community awareness campaigns; from lobbying to creating new programmes. These guides are designed to provide practical advice for undertaking various justice reform strategies.

What is restorative justice?

Restorative justice is a theory of justice that emphasizes repairing the harm caused or revealed by criminal behaviour. It is best accomplished through cooperative processes that include all stakeholders.

Practices and programs reflecting restorative purposes will respond to crime by: (a) identifying and taking steps to repair harm, (b) involving all  stakeholders, and (c) transforming the traditional relationship between communities and their governments in responding to crime. more
