
2007 in Review
PF national organisations continue to pursue justice in their countries. PF justice work includes a variety to strategies to improve justice systems including the creation of programmes to meet the needs of victims and offenders, working one government committees related to justice and prison reform and implementing PFI programmes such as the Sycamore Tree Project® and Communities of Restoration. The following table outlines the different strategies and PF national organisation involvement.

Over the course of 2007, the Centre responded to 77 requests for information from PF national organisations in 31 countries. These requests ranged from copies of restorative justice Bible studies from previous years to information for the development of re-entry and aftercare programmes to materials for running PFI developed programmes to information for conference presentations and responses to government policy proposals.
International Diploma in Restorative Justice Course
In 2007, the Centre sponsored the International Diploma in Restorative Justice in conjunction with Queen’s Theological College at Queen’s University. The course provided students with an overview of restorative justice and different applications of the restorative concepts and processes. The class explored themes such as Biblical justice, peacemaking in national conflict situations, use of restorative processes in crimes of severe violence, assisting sex offenders to reintegrate into the community and the future possibilities for restorative justice. After completing the six days of in-class course work, several students went on to complete additional requirements and received the International Diploma in 2008. The course served 64 students from 33 countries.
