PF national organisations in Africa use many strategies to address the needs in their criminal justice systems. Their work includes advocating for and implementing restorative justice, hosting seminars and training sessions for government officials and implementing aftercare programmes.

PF national organisations in Asia are active in justice reform through advocating restorative justice and the implementation of in-prison programmes.
Justice Reform in Europe
In Europe, PF national organisationshave adopted diverse strategies in working for justice reform. These include advocating for restorative justice, raising awareness about the needs of the poor and minorities and implementing in-prison restorative justice programmes.

What is restorative justice?

Restorative justice is a theory of justice that emphasizes repairing the harm caused or revealed by criminal behaviour. It is best accomplished through cooperative processes that include all stakeholders.

Practices and programs reflecting restorative purposes will respond to crime by: (a) identifying and taking steps to repair harm, (b) involving all  stakeholders, and (c) transforming the traditional relationship between communities and their governments in responding to crime. more
