Crime-Care Conference

In cooperation with Lotsha, a Christian networking organisation, PF South Africa recently hosted a one-day conference for churches with the theme, “Our Offenders, Our Victims, Our Responsibility.”
More than 115 churches were represented at the conference and the feedback was very positive. “There was an overwhelming call for this to be grown into a two-day workshop style conference for 2008,” says Douw Grobler, Executive Director of PF South Africa, “and we will seriously look at doing this.”
PF arranged for several speakers at the conference, including an ex-offender who is now the Assistant Programme Coordinator for Reintegration with Khulisa, a crime prevention organisation; a deputy minister of the Department of Correctional Services; a high court judge; and Mike Batley, Chairperson of the Restorative Justice Initiative of Southern Africa.
“We believe that God is doing great miracles in the field of crime-care in South Africa, and we praise Him for the way he is using PF South Africa to bring together ministries and initiatives,” comments Douw.
