Last modified 2007-12-05 07:55
In February, the Polish Chaplaincy and PF Poland hosted a one-day conference for those working in the area of juvenile justice.
The conference focused on the need to create policies for coordinating
the work of different juvenile correctional facilities and other
agencies serving young offenders and working on crime prevention.
Specialists in the field, social scientists, and practitioners
addressed the conference on several topics related to restorative
justice and working with youth.
The one-day event was attended by over 200 directors of juvenile correctional institutions, the Minister of Justice, the Deputy Director of the Prison Service, the Archbishop of Warsaw and other church representatives, as well as others working in the area of youth crime. The conference was seen as useful and timely as Poland is experiencing increasing levels of youth crime.
