Sycamore Tree Project® Celebration
Hundreds of PF England/Wales staff, volunteers and supporters joined several Sycamore Tree Project® victim participants for a joyous celebration at Holy Trinity Church in Coventry, England. Victims and other STP participants told moving stories of how they have been impacted by the project.
One victim said her outlook and her life changed after she took part in
the six-week course. Following the service, PF held a Sycamore Tree
Project® exhibit featuring displays of poems, letters, crafts and
artwork created as a symbolic act of restitution by prisoners who had
participated in an STP course.
One prisoner, who at the start of the course had declared himself a lost cause who could not change, carved two kneeling figures from a bar of soap with a paperclip. Funds from a collection taken during the service were given to local branches of Victim Support whose members work with PF’s Sycamore Tree Project®.
